
From Asheville:
Spruce Pine is just under an hour’s drive northeast of Asheville. Follow I-26 west from Asheville and take exit 9 for US 19-E north. For downtown, turn left at the intersection with Highland Ave. and right on Locust St. after the bridge.
From Boone:
Spruce Pine is a little under an hour southwest from Boone. Take NC 105 south to Linville, then turn right onto US 221 S. Another right onto NC 194 south will take you to US 19 E. Turn left and continue south. For downtown, turn right at the intersection with Highland Ave. and right on Locust St. after the bridge.
From Charlotte:
Spruce Pine is about two and a half hours northwest of Charlotte. Drive south on I-85 and take exit 17 for US 321 north. Continue to exit 43 and head west on I-40 until you reach Marion. Take exit 86 for NC 226 north and follow it up the mountain and under the Blue Ridge Parkway. For downtown, continue straight across the intersection with US 19-E onto Highland Ave and turn right on Locust St. after the bridge.
From Johnson City:
Spruce Pine is just over an hour southeast of Johnson City, Tennessee. For the most direct route, take I-26 east to exit 32 at Unicoi. Turn left off the ramp, right onto Unicoi Dr., then left on TN 107 east. When you cross the state line into North Carolina, TN 107 becomes NC 226 south. Continue until you reach the intersection with US 19-E and turn left. For downtown, turn left at the intersection with Highland Ave. and right on Locust St. after the bridge.
From the Blue Ridge Parkway:
Downtown Spruce Pine is ten minutes’ drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Exit at Gillespie Gap, where NC 226 passes under the parkway. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right on NC 226. When you reach the intersection with US 19-E, continue straight, then turn right on Locust St. after the bridge.
